This concept vehicle is called the Apache FM1, it’s a two person trike vehicle that is inspired by the Apache Model AH-64 helicopter.  The car  has an aggressive look to it, styled to look striking and bold. It was designed by the Morocan designer Senni Med and is  made from polished aluminium and outward facing magnetic wheels. Whether or not the car would be practical I’m not too sure, but it can’t be denied that it looks like any good aspiring sports car should, furious!

The Mercedes Benz Museum is located outside the main entrance of the Daimler factory in Stuttgart, and was designed by the Dutch architects UN Studio.  The building is designed around a cloverleaf concept, and is very unique as a result. Space is maximised by making the building relatively tall, and in total is provides 16,500 sqm of exhibition space while only having a footprint of 4,800sqm. The museum houses over 160 cars, some extremely rare and exquisite.

Yas Marina Circuit will be the venue for the Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. It was designed by Asymptone Architecture, and is situated on the 2,500-hectare man-made  Yas Island.  The cost of the project has not been disclosed, but experts estimate it in the billions.  The track length is 3.452 miles, with 21 corners and an estimated top speed of 197mph. The location is roughly 30 minutes away from Abu Dhabi the capital of the UAE. Apart from the race track the Island also houses several world class golf courses and seven new hotels, including the breathtaking Yas Hotel. Bernie Ecclestone has reportedly said that the standard of this circuit and the surrounding area has surpassed his expectations, even claiming it has the potential to eclipse the sacred quay of Monte Carlo.

The Island will also feature the world’s first Ferrari World theme park, which is supposedly the world’s biggest park of its kind. The Park offers more than 20 Ferrari-inspired rides and attractions, including a diverse array of rides for adults and children, a wide variety of Italian delicacies, and unique shopping experiences.

If you live in a metropolitan area and have to spend hours on jam-packed roads while heading from your home to work and vice versa, the Original Buddy Desk can be a true mate that turns into a dining table to serve food, a workstation for your portable systems and a desk to write or work on. All you have to do is insert the narrow end of the desk into the bottom of the steering wheel that rests against the steering column. You’re looking at the Slow Car concept from Jurgen Bey, one of the Netherlands’ most respected high-end home furniture designers. He’s taken the humble office cubicle, and slapped it on a 25mph scooter. Talk about being chained to your desk.

He imagines environments like campuses and airports offering the vehicle, because it lets folks stay productive at a desk, in privacy, without walking. He says by limiting the speed, users should feel a sense of calm at being able to max out the throttle, something we don’t always get to do in cars.

Personally, being boxed makes me feel pretty far from calm. Fail. Check out the vid and decide for yourself.

Last December, Green Car Advisor’s Nick Kurczewski was able to snag a ride in MDI’s AIRPod. Now, the lucky punk journalist has taken a turn behind the wheel. The short version of his review: this could be the car of the future and it feels like an amusement park ride, but it’s no Millennium Falcon. Seriously.

As we know, the Air Car uses compressed air to power a small two-cylinder engine. The 180cc poweplant produces 5.4 horsepower, but MDI is working on a upgraded AIRPod GT will have 8 hp. Kurczewski says the AIRPod’s joystick steering is modified from the original design, which would have seen the speed and deceleration controlled by the stick as well as direction. That complicated-sounding mess has been scrapped in favor of more traditional pedals + joystick.
