Blueseed – Offshore Office Vessel?
Blueseed aims to introduce an interesting, if not a far fetched, concept in 2013. The company plans to offer living and office space in an elegantly designed modern tech environment that aims to be the “Googleplex of the Sea”. They want to attract top entrepreneurial and technology talent from all over the world to Silicon Valley. Because of current immigration rules in the US, according to Blueseed “bold and creative entrepreneurs from around the world aren’t given the chance to come to Silicon Valley and develop the technologies that could be creating jobs and propelling the economy forward.” Blueseed aims to solve this problem so that Silicon Valley remains the world’s center for innovation by creating facilities a short ferry ride away from Silicon Valley so that great ideas and talent from around the world can live, work, and play while having convenient access to the San Francisco Bay Area.
Here’s an interview with the company’s CEO:
Harley Davidson Office – Gurgaon, India
Harley Davidson announced in November 2010 that is would be expanding its operations into India. Its iconic motor cycles are to be fabricated in the USA, and assembled in India for the Indian market. In order to manage their Indian operations they located their office headquarters Gurgaon which is one of India’s largest industrial and financial centers.
The architects behind the office space were Morphogenesis. They used everything from the Harley Davidson colours, full motorcycles and even Harley parts to infuse the office with the iconic Harley Davidson brand. Nevertheless, as with most good design projects, some thought was given to reflect local designs and flavours. This can be seen through the use of the ’jaalis’ for example, which is an ornate perforated screen.

TNT Express is a shipping company that specialises in speedy courier services of various kinds. The company ships items all over the world, with a capacity of over 30,000 vehicles and 50 aircraft that allows them the infrastructure to deliver and ship parcels quickly (or at least thats the idea anyway!). They’ve just opened a new HQ in Hoofdrop which is in Holland. The office is sustainable and as green as can be, achieving LEED Platinum ratings, and taking TNT one step closer to their goal of being the first carbon-neutral shipping company in the world. The office space was designed by the architectural firm Paul de Ruiter.
These offices are very nice indeed, I especially love the little private nook areas which are intended to act as hotdesking spaces. However the office does perhaps lack a bit of colour, who says environmentally sustainable design needs to be bland? What do you think?

Sid Lee Office Space – Montreal
A couple of days back we covered the new Red Bull office designed by Sid Lee, well today it is time to look at Sid Lee’s own office headquarters based in Montreal Canada. The offices are very funky and very innovative, one would expect no less from an agency with clients the likes of Adidas, Cirque du Soleil, and Fatboy. The office is open-plan, with a few private areas for collaboration and co-working. The design of this office was initially carried out with the help of a couple of outside firms, but as we know from the Red Bull office Sid Lee has since launched a full-service architecture and design division.
New RedBull Office – Amsterdam
Redbull the creator of the famous Redbull energy drink has recently opened up a new office space in Amsterdam. The Redbull office spans almost 10,000 sqm, forming just a small part of the vast 78,000 sqm Media Wharf complex at the NDSM Wharf.
The offices were designed by Sid Lee Architecture, who are based both in Montreal and Amsterdam. The theme behind this new Redbull office was to highlight duality and polarity; things such as reason and intuition, darkness and light, public and private. The office has a unique feel to it, with much of the space seemingly unfinished and undefined. Rough edges and an underlying feel of the ‘street’ harks back in respect to the shipyard’s historic design. We’ve covered other Red bull offices before, you can check out their London Office space here.
eOffice provides various office solutions in Amsterdam and the Netherlands, so if you’re looking for office space, meeting rooms, hotdesking or even a virtual office check out us out.

Tokyo office designed to beautify the female form
This space was once again renovated by sschemata, it was the office space of a long established Pharmacy in Tokyo.
The client wanted to achieve two things, the first was to decrease the amount of documents and clutter in modern day offices. The client was baffled by the amount of mess that accumulated despite the fact that we live in a digital age. The second goal was somewhat more aspiring, the office was to be designed in such as way as to beautify the legs of women. The architects therefore aptly named this project ‘the foot fetish office’!
To achieve the first goal the office was made slim-lined and minimalist; the second aim was achieved by ensuring that nothing was placed lower than 700mm from the ground. If practicality required it to be on the ground it would be painted bright orange. I guess the idea was that the office would be an uncluttered canvas for the feminine form, although surely this will equally apply to male legs!

Tokyo Office – Minimalist Design
The so called ‘mr_design office’ was created by the Japanese architectural studio schemata. At just 190 meters squared the office is small, but what would you expect for a 5 person office, in Tokyo no less! The intention was to keep the office open, uncluttered and non-isolationist, while at the same time allowing it to be warm and private. With this aim in mind the Tokyo office incorporates noninvasive and playful designs. Because of the constraints, mirrors were used to give the impression of space, a feature that is in keeping with the minimalist style desired.
